Long before the automobile was even invented, Peugeot were manufacturing quality steel Pepper Mills. In fact, their first patented design of 1842 is still in production today, and their products are the choice of professional chefs around the world.
There are two steps to the process of grinding pepper in a Peugeot Mill. The first mechanism cracks open the peppercorn, while the second grinds it to a fine powder. During manufacture, the two layers of grinding teeth are individually cut, and the steel is then case hardened, creating a mill that will last a lifetime.
Peugeot Salt Mills contain a commercial grade stainless steel grinding mechanism, which is less to susceptible salt corrosion.
